Author & Journalist

Helen is a sought-after columnist having had regular columns in both The Independent's Magazine and Woman and Home. Her work regularly appears in a stream of national press including Woman's Weekly, My Weekly, The Guardian, Mail on Sunday, The Telegraph and The Spectator. She is currently agony aunt with her 'Ask Helen'column for My Weekly magazine and is probably problem-solving for others as we speak. Her short stories have been published in The Daily Express. As a commissioned author, she has contributed to Girls' Night In (Harper Collins) and Girls' Night Out (Harper Collins), both available to buy from Amazon here. Her book Single Minding (Hodder and Stoughton) followed Coping with Helen Lederer - still available to be purchased by the more intrepid Amazon user (any copies of these would be gratefully received by the author herself). Her comedy novel Losing It was published by Pan Macmillan and nominated for the PG Wodehouse comedy literary award. See more on Losing It.

Wine expert & Travel writer

Never one to turn down a glass of wine, Helen decided some years ago she may as well become an expert in the subject having been delighted with the surprise appointment as wine columnist for The Saturday Express magazine. Shortly after, she was pioneering her own light hearted wine workshops entitled The Show-Off's Guide, gaining the WSET LEVEL 2 (Wine and Sprit Education Trust) qualification in Wine, writing numerous wine columns, appearing in TV guest spots as a wine expert and even writing her own wine sitcom, as well as drinking regularly at wine tastings, if only to keep up to speed with her craft - needs must.

Helen's early diaries reveal a joy in reportage – intimate but always truthful, Helen likes nothing better than reporting tight, pithy pieces about other countries, places, geography and social practices. She has been writing a steady stream of travel articles and wine columns for The Mail on Sunday, Independent and The Sunday Express Magazine.
