Helen Lederer in a bath of wine bottles

Wine Vault

Helen Lederer has been a wine enthusiast since she could swallow legally. Luckily, years later she was invited to be the weekly Wine Columnist for the Sunday Express Magazine and the resident columnist for 'Living South' magazine. She also matched wine with food for Sky TV’s ‘Destination Lunch’ and judged for the prestigious ‘Roederer Wine Writing Awards’.

She keeps in shape by attending the odd tasting, runs comedy wine workshops in restaurants and any other venues with enough glasses, combining handy ‘show off’ tips with the sheer pleasure of tasting. Helen has passed the WSET (Wine and Spirits Academy) Exam level 2 and attended Michael Schuster’s wine course.

Comic Relief invited her to drink up for their Wine Relief.

Her fun approach to the pleasures of food and wine inspired several radio appearances for BBC Radio 4, The Wine Programme with Oz Clarke, a live Champagne tasting on BBC Breakfast Television with Malcolm Gluck and hosted a wine tasing at the BBC Food Fair in Birmingham. She also presented a celebrity wine tasting for the ‘Taste of Birmingham’ and spent several happy days sipping at Michel Laroche’s vineyard in Chablis for OK Magazine. She ran a singles wine workshop for the Daily Telegraph (two people copped off) as well as a blind wine tasting for the JP Morgan ‘Wine into Water’ event. Her latest ‘Show Off’s Guide to Wine’ took place at The Library Club - watch this glass.
